MULTI-TITLED race car driver Carlos Anton seeks another unprecedented fifth straight title when he defends his crown in the upcoming 2011 Hill Climb Championship.
And what a way to do it by signing up with the world’s brand leader in motor oils.
“The best drivers in the world use Castrol Oil to win races so we want to support the top racing drivers in the country also,” Castrol Area Business Manager for North Luzon Ced Morales said saying the company is extremely happy to sign up the 4 time king of the hill and multiple Philippine champion.
Anton sets out to defend his title May 8 in the hills of San Fernando, La Union where over 60 racers are set to blaze up the 3 kilometer Pias stage. The series then moves further north to the Hills of Batac, Ilocos Norte in June for the second leg.
“I’m very happy to be racing for Castrol this season. Their support in the pre-season testing has already been great and we hope to continue our winning ways with them. I believe in their product and thank them for supporting the Filipino racer,” Anton said of his latest sponsor.
Anton will continue to use the Mark Young prepared Honda CRX which brought him his first 4 titles in hill climb racing. Joining Anton in the Yokohama-Castrol-Hornitex team is 2010 Division 2 champion Frankie Domingo, 2009 division 3 champion Dennis Aoyong, and Division 4 front runner Alfie Concepcion.
“The whole team is ready for the 2011 season and we want to go for a blazing start. The series will be running into the rainy season during the 3rd and 4th legs and anything can happen,” team manager Mark Young said. Roderick Osis
