BAGUIO City Football Association defended the home turf to steal the crown in the premiere Men’s open but teams from the out of town lorded it over at the close of the Philex Pine Cup 2011 at the Melvin Jones football grounds recently.
BCFA, composed mainly of the Baguio United football club, blanked Navy FC-A in their finals match up, 1-0, to take the crown with Navy FC Team B settling for the second runner-up in the tournament presented by Philex Mining Corporation in cooperation with the BUFC.
The ladies open, meanwhile, saw University of the Philippines–Diliman emerging as champion edging out Benguet State University and the Baguio Ladies in the event also backed by the City government of Baguio and Savory Chicken.
De La Salle Zobel, meanwhile, was the biggest winner in the tournament after taking home two crowns in the 18 under division and 16 under girls.
De La Salle Zobel ripped United Cagayanos Football Association in their championship match to win the crown in the 18 under boys division with Team Palaro CAR settling for second runner-up honors.
The 16 under boys of Olongapo City Zambales Football Association won the championship while the 1st runner up was De La Salle Zobel Team A with Baguio United Football Club taking home the second runner-up honors.
De LA Salle Zobel-A brought home the crown in the 16 under girls division with their team B settling for second as Baguio Ladies emerged third.
Another out of team, Nayong Kabataan, won the championship in the 14 under boys while Tuguegarao City Football Club Team B and Olongapo City Zambales Football Association salvaged second and third place finish, respectively.
Team Palaro CAR took the championship in the 12 under boys division with Team Schwartz and Ateneo Football Center winning the second and third place plum.
Ateneo Football center won the 10 under boys division while the Green Barons–Laguna and Atletico Diliman Football Club settled for second and third respectively.
