Three footraces fires off

BAGUIO health buffs and running enthusiasts are set to take on the street anew as three foot races are scheduled three weekend days of April.

Kicking off on April 17 is the first Baguio Country Club run gets going April 17 with three race distances set to greet runners of all ages.

The race, which covers the 3k, 5k and 10k distances, are expected to lure amateurs and beginners in foot races with prices at stake in the event. The race is open to all members and dependents, including employees and sponsored guests.

However, former and current members of the national training pool, including varsity players will not be allowed to join the race.

Registration fee for members and dependents will be at P150 while employees and sponsored guests will have to shell out P250. Registration is now ongoing at the Baguio Country Club recreations department.

Meanwhile, the 1st five kilometer night run hits the road April 23 covering the South Drive, Outlook Drive, and John Hay Areas. Organized by the Front Runner Magazine, registration is now ongoing with registration fee at P250.

Top three winners will be given cash, trophies, medals and gift certificates while a commemorative runner shirt will also be given during the race.

Slated on April 30 is the Faith Run, a fund raising event for PO2 Robert Cheng which covers 3k, 5k, and 10k distances.

Cheng is currently undergoing medical treatment for accident he sustained while on duty at Loakan Road last year.

Registration fee is at P150 with the race firing off at 5:30 in the morning at the Burnham Park Lake Drive.

Registration forms for all the events are available at the entrance gate of the Laperal building.
